Questions About 10+2

  • ISF FEES FROM MULTIPLE PROVIDERS

Question: Our logistics provider electronically receives information from our suppliers at origin and transmits the broker via EDI. The broker is responsible for reviewing the ISF and filing with Customs. We were expecting to receive an additional filing fee from our broker; however we were surprised that the logistics provider also plans to charge us […]

  • ISF FILING

Are the rest of you experiencing something similar to this and how are you handling it? I have received direct requests from forwarders stating that they HAVE TO HAVE our EIN, bond info, etc right now to file all the required data overseas at origin. Also forwarders are contacting my vendors saying the same thing. […]

  • FILING 10+2 INFO

I’ve been asked to find out what other importers are doing with respect to 10+2 now that the Federal Register notice has been issued. Are the members having their freight forwarders or brokers entering data for the new 10+2 requirement? What are your reasons for selecting either the forwarder or broker?

  • FINANCIAL BURDEN OF 10+2

With all the economic hardship facing corporations (and the nation in general) and the increased financial burden of 10+2 (from the forwarders using it as a cash cow) does anyone know of any attempt by any group or association to get the program postponed??

  • CANADIAN SHIPMENTS

How about DDP shipments, and shipments that transit the USA that have a final destination of Canada? Say for example on DDP, I go across the street and tell the seller I need XYZ, I know that the seller will need to import XYZ. Therefore, the seller is the IOR and I am the Ultimate […]

  • ISF AND NON COMPLIANCE

While recognizing that the Importer Security Filing (ISF) Importer is the party ultimately responsible for filing the ISF with Customs, I would be interested in hearing how importers plan on addressing the issue of the imposition of liquidated damages on the importer due to non-compliance by a vendor. Are companies specifically putting clauses in their […]

  • 10+2 “ALTERNATE” METHOD

Has anyone heard anything regarding an “Alternate Method” for filing 10+2 data for Pharma and Medical companies already regulated by FDA. I thought I read a brief description somewhere but now cannot locate the resource.

  • 10+2 Q&A 11

Has anyone sent out an awareness letter, a commitment letter or a survey to your suppliers/vendors related to the Importer Security Filing (10+2)? If so, would you be willing to share it as a template for other ICPA members?

  • 10+2 Q&A 10

I’m curious to find out how other companies in the membership are setting up the process for 10+2 with their suppliers and freight forwarders?

  • 10+2 Q&A 9

Help me set the record straight. We average 500-600 import entries per year of roughly 90 (chemical) material numbers. Mostly FCL, with multiple FCLs on the same entry, usually of the same raw material on a single entry. At times we will have containers of mixed product. My boss is under the impression that with […]

  • 10+2 Q&A 8

Does the 6 digit tariff number per item have to be shown on the commercial invoice, or can the information be supplied via an alternate document such as the pack slip or a separate document?

  • 10+2 Q&A 7

In reading 10+2 additional information required, specifically “Name & address of the party to which the goods are being shipped”, I am concerned that my seller will be able to access my customer’s name & address. This has always been a big concern for US importers and now the government is forcing us to publish […]
