ICPA can accredit a variety of educational activities from webinars to conferences as well as self-guided courses. These educational activities may be conducted internally within your company, during a webinar you may conduct or record for future viewing, and/or seminars/conferences you may coordinate or speak at in person or virtually.
If you are a licensed customs broker that prepares the educational material, you can also apply for CE credit as the speaker/presenter of that material up to a maximum of one CE credit. The below chart provides the pricing to accredit different CE activities that you can submit through our accreditation portal. If you have multiple courses that you would like to submit at one time, please email CETeam@ICPAInc.org to discuss a bulk submission.
CE Activity | Cost |
---|---|
Speaker Preparation (1 CE Credit Max) | $25 |
Webinar & Recorded Session (single session) | $50 |
Seminars & Conferences (multiple sessions) | $100 |
Self-Guided Courses & Tutorials | $100 |
To get started, you need to sign up for a login and password so you will be able to view and see all activity you submit to ICPA. This is an automated process that will take a couple minutes to have an account to manage your portal activity.
Once you login, it will guide you through the application that collects all the information CBP requires for accreditors to approve your educational activity for CE activity. Once you submit the information through our portal, you will receive an automated acknowledgement with a unique reference number. We will then review the information to determine if it meets the standard criteria CBP has established that each accreditor must follow.
If your CE activity is approved, you will receive an automated email within 1 to 2 business days that confirms the following information:
- Number of Approved Credit Hours. This may vary from the number of credit hours you submitted, which we must calculate in accordance with CBP guidelines.
- Unique Accreditation Code. This should be provided to anyone that participates in your educational activity.
- Approved CBP Logo. This must be shown on your educational activity to verify has been accredited. You will receive guidelines on how this logo can be used.
- Effective Period. Each educational activity you submit is approved for one year and must be recertified each year to ensure material is kept up-to-date.
- Invoice. You will receive a separate email that contains your invoice that can be paid with check or credit card.
If your CE activity is declined, you will receive an email that contains a detailed reason for the declination. If you believe your educational activity was declined in error, you can always resubmit your activity. You will not be charged for any activity that is declined. Sometimes we may have additional questions before we can proceed with an approval, which will be managed through our portal. The below flow chart outlines the entire accreditation process. If you have any questions throughout the process, please email CETeam@ICPAinc.org.
