Are you currently under investigation by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) or concerned about the threat of one?
Whether it’s your first time ever hearing about OFAC or you are familiar with the federal agency, you’d better be careful if you want to get through this without an experienced advisor.
Think of the investigation as an audit in that they are combing through your records and drawing conclusions to ensure you have been complying with their regulations. Where wrongdoing is found you could be subject to civil or criminal penalties including jail time.
